I love the 500 miles song! My youth group leader would sing that every week at our meetings and he did the accent so well. Ah, the memories that brings back. I’ll have that song in my head all day now, but that’s okay.

i think that it’s amazing that you are deciding to finish your college education even though you are past your 30’s. So many people limit themselves to a number and feel as though they can’t accomplish much after a certain age. I hhave friends who are almost 30, who want to go to school so bad, but they alwasy say that they are too old, or it’s past their time. i think that you’re a perfect example of what being unlimited can do.

I never really played video games as a kid either. My boyfriend’s trying to teach me to play Final Fantasy 7 on his Playstation 2. I’m having fun with it, but it does illustrate what the article said about video games being a type of literacy. When we started playing, I found that I am video-game illiterate. I can’t control characters, I don’t know how to access the setup menu, and I can’t even find my way around the map. I never realized how little I knew. It’s interesting now to watch him handle the controls. He makes it look easy, but it’s not.

Smiling!! You called…at least you had the sense to go home. I stayed at Best Buy for about three hours asking if it was done yet. Then I decided to go to Barnes and Noble (right around the corner) so that I wouldn’t be far when they called me. I stayed hovering the area until about fifteen minutes before Best Buy closed. Yes, it was fixed by then!!

LOL!! That’s true!! .15 or .20 cents a message can get expensive. I text, but my people laught because I spell out words and add punctuation….haha!!

I agree with her stance on citations. I am fearful of plagiarizing and would never knowingly do it, but sometimes I wonder when citations are needed. Because I am paranoid about plagiarizing, I tend to over-cite on my papers. I guess I need to look that up again, huh?

Phil Collins is sooooo soothing. I can listen to him and Peter Gabriel and just drift off. Then again, I can listen to Genesis and see a whole other side. He is truly talented.

Hahaha, I agree- texting can be addicting!! I never used to text until a couple of months ago and now I prefer it to talking on the phone. It is easy and quick, and though I usually don’t text during class, it is useful for that too! I can text in areas such as the caf, where there is little reception, or the library, where you have to be quiet. I didn’t have a texting plan, but the charges forced me to get one. Now all I need is that qwerty keyboard……
